Stigmatism

Often incorrectly called "a stigmatism," it's actually one word -- astigmatism, meaning that the front surface of the eye (the cornea) is not exactly spherical.

"Stigmatism" is not correct. "Astigmatism" is correct.

Read these astigmatism articles:

Astigmatism is generally accompanied by either myopia (nearsightedness) or hyperopia (farsightedness). Astigmatism (not stigmatism) can be corrected by eyeglasses, contact lenses, and laser eye surgery.

Other popular topics: pink eye, cataracts, dry eyes, macular degeneration and keratoconus.

Find an eye doctor - optometrist or LASIK surgeon.
