Many people spell or pronounce LASIK as Lasiks, or Lasicks, but neither is correct.
It's actually LASIK eye surgery -- not with an "S." LASIK uses lasers to reduce dependence on eyeglasses and contact lenses.
LASIK can correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism.
