Tummy Tuck Surgery Candidates Seeking Information
Tummy tuck is a procedure a plastic surgeon performs to help redefine and reshape a patient's figure. During this two to five hour procedure, an incision is made laterally from hip bone to hip bone, dipping directly below the panty line. The size and exact shape of the incision are determined by the patient's original body line, desired body line and preferred bikini and undergarment style. Fat and skin are then removed, and the stomach muscles are tightened creating a smaller, slimmer waist line. Recovery time for an abdominoplasty is, on average, 1-3 weeks, but can vary from patient to patient. Patients should not return to any rigorous exercise routine before consulting their surgeon. If considering plastic surgery consult a board-certified plastic surgery specialist to help you assess the costs, risks and benefits.
